BUSY SOUTH AFRICAN STAND AT THE INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMATIC BAZAAR
The International Diplomatic Bazaar took place on 8-9 November 2024, where many countries had stands displaying and selling cultural items, including local food, to the visitors in Lisbon. The South African stand was chock-o-bloc full of South African goodies, home-made food, wine, crafts and decorations. Thank you to partners Prime Wine and the GB Store for continuing to support this event in cooperation with the Embassy. President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa paid a short visit to the stand and congratulated Ambassador Gaoretelelwe and the staff on a very colourful exhibition! He was also gifted a bottle of South African wine by South African wine importer, Prime Wine. The President is the Patron of the Diplomatic Bazaar which this year will support institutions caring for the elderly.
Thank you to the many visitors, locals and international visitors, and the South Africans, who turned up to enjoy the “gees” (spirit) and to support this worthy cause.
